Fallout officially renewed for Season 2 at Amazon
After an explosive debut that released all eight episodes at once on Prime Video, the bombs are set to drop again as Fallout has officially been renewed for Season 2. While some thought Bethesda's apocalyptic adventure was simply too big to adapt, Westworld showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy did it in style.
Fallout Season 2 gets the green light
Click to enlargeAs reported by Variety, Fallout Season 2 is officially in the works. We'd already covered how Season 2 was looking likely thanks to a $25 million tax break for filming in California, but now, hands have been shaken, and vaults have been reopened.
Nolan and Joy were delighted with the news and cheered, "Praise be to our insanely brilliant showrunners, Geneva and Graham, to our kick-ass cast, to Todd and James and all the legends at Bethesda, and to Jen, Vernon and the amazing team at Amazon for their incredible support of this show. We can’t wait to blow up the world all over again."
Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, praised cast members, including Ella Purnell (Lucy), Walton Goggins (The Ghoul), Aaron Moten (Maximus), and Kyle McLachlan (Hank), adding, "We are thrilled to announce season two after only one week out and take viewers even farther into the surreal world of 'Fallout.'"

Click to enlargeNews of Season 2 will come as no surprise to many, what with Fallout earning rave reviews and being called one of the best video game adaptations of all time. Amazon has also confirmed it's one of Prime Video's three most-watched titles and the most-watched TV since The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power.
As for where we go next, we'd probably settle in for a bit of a wait. Fallout was officially announced in 2020, and with shows like this being notoriously hard to produce, Fallout Season 2 is unlikely to suddenly drop in 2025.
Still, this could be the start of a multi-season series that can continue to expand the Wasteland. Keeping things spoiler-light, the jaw-dropping ending of Fallout Season 1 set our heroes and villains out on several paths - with the shadowy Vault-Tec at its core.
In particular, our fears that the series has retconned the fan-favourite Fallout: New Vegas have been put to the side, with the Mojave Desert looking like a tourist destination next time around. Either way, we hope you've been taking your Rad-X because Fallout's about to get a whole lot more deadly.
