Amazon's live-action Fallout series is dropping early
Run for your shelters because the bombs are unexpectedly dropping early. Amazon's live-action Fallout series is set to land with a bang in April 2024, and in case you weren't already psyched to see Bethesda's lauded game series get the live-action treatment, the streaming giant has a welcome treat for us.
Given that the Fallout franchise is up there with The Elder Scrolls as one of Bethesda's best, it was only a matter of time until we saw this world transformed for live-action. GGRecon has already seen the first two episodes and we'll be giving our thoughts soon, but that's not the only big Fallout news on the way.
Amazon's Fallout series is coming early
If you've booked the day off work to binge Fallout, we hope you can change it. Prime Video has just confirmed that all eight episodes will now drop on April 10 at 6pm PST/9pm EST/1am BST (April 11). It means those in the United Kingdom will have to get up extra early if they want to join in on the fun.
Although you could technically skip to the end and watch the finale first (you'd be mad), there's a special global fan premiere where you're encouraged to choose your faction and chat with other Vault Dwellers via a live chat function.
If you don't have a Prime Video subscription and don't fancy paying, you'll be able to watch the season premiere on Twitch. Streamers including Shroud, BrookeAB, TheOnlyRyann, DEERE, CohhCarnage, KingGothalion, ThatBronzeGirl, DansGaming, SweeetTails, Elspeth, Techniq, Swiftor, GassyMexican, Tooniversal, and bloodyfaster will be streaming the first episode live on April 11.
There's already talk of Fallout Season 2
Click to enlargeJeez, give us a break. We haven't even survived our first trip to the Wasteland, and there's already talk of a second season. With this being such a massive world, with there being so much lore, and with Fallout Season 1 boasting such an A-list cast, we're hardly surprised.
As reported by Variety, the California Film Commission is offering productions $152 million in tax credits to projects that film there, with Fallout Season 2 apparently on the list and receiving a hefty $25 million. The site adds that the first season was mainly filmed in New York and Utah.
It's important to note that the mythical Fallout Season 2 doesn't have to film in California and that it could all be canned if the series is a flop, however, we don't see that happening. With the long-awaited Fallout series just around the corner, there isn't long until you can all decide for yourselves.
