Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer co-op is brilliantly broken
Class is back in session, as we head back to Hogwarts Legacy for a bit of witchcraft and wizardry. While Avalanche Software's Harry Potter prequel originally spellbound us, the ambitious adventure soon dropped off - like too many modern games seem to.
With accusations it's like a ghost town in Hogwarts Legacy, a small Dumbledore's Army of players are keeping things going with their own fan-made creations. More than just modding Professor Garlick into Shrek, some have created a Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer co-op experience. Unfortunately, it might need a Reparo spell.

Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer co-op is brilliantly broken
YouTube channel Sereno has given us a look at Hogwarts Legacy's multiplayer co-op, which comes courtesy of the HogWarp mod. We previously covered the mod in its earlier stages, with its 10-player co-op being wild. It seems not much has changed, as trying to play Hogwarts Legacy co-op truly breaks the game.
In the footage, we see the secondary character pop up at the most ridiculous times, clipping through Professor Weasley, riding a Graphorn through the air, and bouncing around on a broom. It's chaotic fun, but it proves that Hogwarts Legacy definitely wasn't made for multiplayer.
You can download the HogWarp mod from Nexus Mods, but with it clearly being in a pretty buggy state, we're not sure you'd want to. If you want to play a multiplayer Potter game, you're probably going to have to wait for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.
Does Hogwarts Legacy have multiplayer?
Unfortunately, it's over to modders to open the doors to the famed school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Avalanche repeatedly said Hogwarts Legacy was going to be a single-player outing. Although there are hopes the game could be expanded to include multiplayer, it looks less likely by the day.
As well as job listings hinting at the potential existence (already) of a Legacy sequel, Game Director Alan Tew previously said there are "no plans" for a DLC. It's disappointing that this also nixes our hopes of a Quidditch expansion that was teased multiple times throughout our playthrough.
While plans for a Hogwarts Legacy DLC could change, it looks like we're left dreaming up fictional Chamber of Secrets expansions and the ability to raise our wands and duke it out with pals via multiplayer. To quote Dumbledore, "alas."
