Black Ops 6's record-breaking introduction has largely been down to its groundbreaking Max Payne-inspired omnimovement.

The 360-degree movement mechanic was first popularised by Payne years ago, but now, it's been cranked up, refined, and hopefully perfected as it enters the Call of Duty series in 2024.

However, it won't be the only game this year to steal this mechanic, as Killer Bean - 2024's weirdest game - has beaten Black Ops 6 to the punch.

Killer Bean is the most rouge outlandish game of 2024. Announced officially back in 2021, the title will follow a coffee bean that serves as more than a delicious drink ingredient. You take the role of a killer assassin and operate to take down the worst criminals that the streets have to offer.

The game was featured in Summer Game Fest, where it was announced that Killer Bean would be released in Early Access on Steam this "Summer", but despite its wild storyline and characters, the main character Jack "Killer" Bean appeared as quite the master of omnidirection.

In a short clip of the gameplay, Jack Bean can be seen jumping out of a window and barrel-rolling through the air to shoot a foe in the adjacent window. He lands on his back before shaking himself off and continuing towards his next kill.

The barrel roll was almost the exact same as that seen in Black Ops 6's omnimovement clip, which comes as quite the hilarious quip knowing that Treyarch's team had been bigging-up feature as its marquee attraction.

Of course, Black Ops' will be a bit cleaner and more appropriate than a rogue coffee bean, but maybe omnidirection isn't the selling point that fans should be gagging over.

For those whose interests have been piqued, Killer Bean is coming this "summer," meaning you might get a chance to test out this movement before Black Ops 6's leaked Beta date for late August.
