Here's the Destiny 2 The Final Shape Campaign mission list, including how long it takes to beat
Destiny 2’s Final Shape expansion closes out the Light and Darkness saga in its campaign, and while we already know the final confrontation with The Witness is in the new Raid, you may be wondering how many missions are in the campaign.
I've blitzed through it this week (mostly to avoid spoilers), and have a handy guide for the mission list for Final Shape. I should stress, though, that there's probably just as much post-game as there is campaign content.
The Final Shape mission list
As with any Destiny expansion, there are a few campaign missions that tie together nicely. As I'll be noting in my review in the coming days, there's a lot less "filler" in here - even The Witch Queen had those "go out into the open world and do 'x' tasks.
The mission list is as follows:
- Transmigration
- Temptation
- Exegesis
- Requiem
- Ascent
- Dissent
- Iconoclasm
- Excision
Excision was unlocked after the latest Raid, Salvation's Edge, was beaten. The Raid helps weaken The Witness, but the Excision mission is a 12-player activity that caps off the campaign wonderfully.
It's also worth noting that the new Strike, Liminality, is also part of the campaign. I actually almost didn't realise I was running a Strike until I spotted a pair of Guardians helping me out.
How many missions are in The Final Shape, and how long does it take to beat?
Including Liminality and Excision, there are nine missions and they'll take you around seven hours to finish on standard difficulty.
It'll get you to a decent Power level, but you'll want to play it on Legendary difficulty to help you reach a higher Power cap. I'd gauge there's about 8 to 10 hours there, depending on how tuned your builds are.
There's a whole host of post-game missions, too, helping you earn a trio of exotic weapons. Those are:
Completing those will extend your playtime by getting you additional exotics, but there are more Prismatic Fragments and Aspects to find, too. The Microcosm questline also requires you to try the Cooperative Focus modifiers, which fall somewhere between standard and Legendary but require communication between Fireteam members.
There's also a Season Pass you can grind for rewards - including the Red Death Reformed.
