Rocket League’s rumoured X-Men collab could be huge for Fortnite
The next big Rocket League collaboration could be racing into our lives, and by the sounds of it, we'll be changing our leather interiors for some colourful spandex. Since Psyonix first launched Rocket League back in 2015, we've seen it make bank on its weird and wonderful crossovers.
From early days of Batman and Back to the Future, Rocket League soon took a leaf out of Fortnite's book and realised it could do much more with its crossovers. More recently, we've seen the Disney-fication of Epic Games leaking into Rocket League in the form of collaborations with Cars and The Mandalorian.
Rocket League tipped for X-Men crossover
As shared by Twitter account RocketPlanetGG, Charles Xavier's Gifted Youngsters could be stepping out of the mansion and turning the Rocket League pitch into their very own Danger Room. There aren't ant further details on what it will involve, but given recent crossovers, we can take a guess.
Like with the Star Wars, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Cars-themed crossovers, having the X-Men race into action would presumably include vehicles reskinned in colourways of their classic costumes. It's easy to imagine Wolverine, Cyclops, and Jean cars, or what about Rogue and Magneto bobbleheads to honour their new romance?
If the rumours are true, the X-Men will be making their mark in Rocket League from April 23 until May 3. After the rumoured X-Men collab, RocketPlanetGG claims we're getting more from The Mandalorian, with the Beskar Bundle also coming from May 3 to May 20. Either way, you'd better start saving.
Charles Xavier's Gifted Youngsters making their mark on Fortnite
We're facing a welcome X-Men renaissance right now, and while the mutants of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are largely being kept at the sidelines for now, 2024 is a big year for the franchise thanks to Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3.
There's also been the unprecedented success of X-Men '97, as the revival of X-Men: The Animated Series has earned near-perfect scores from critics and fans alike. With so much going on with those marvellous mutants, we don't see Fortnite missing out on the action.
You'll remember the X-Men debuted in the comic book chaos of Chapter 2 Season 4, although we barely scratched the surface with Storm, Mystique, and Wolverine. The lineup of in-store skins has since expanded to include Rogue, Gambit, and the X-Force, but there are some glaring omissions.
Fortnite fanatics have already been dreaming up their ideal X-Men '97 skins, and to be honest, we think it's a travesty that Beast still doesn't have his own skin. As Rocket League and Fortnite are such good bedfellows, one crossover tends to lead into another, so listen out for that iconic theme tune.
