VALORANT Champion TenZ claims CS2 is ‘more fun’

Tyson "TenZ" Ngo is the poster boy of VALORANT, having always been argued to be the best player in the world, despite revitalising himself in a new role.

The Canadian 23-year-old has won multiple championships in VALORANT having left behind a career in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, including the most recent VCT Masters in Madrid.

But does he even like VALORANT? Well, not as much as you'd think, it seems.

Ever since VALORANT launched, players have been at war against each other as to which tactical FPS is the best, and this was only heightened with the release of CS2 late last year.

But TenZ's side of the debate isn't quite what VALORANT fans would have hoped.

"I think CS2 is more fun for me personally," he said in a recent stream, after being posed the question by a viewer.

"I like the mechanical aspect in CS and it felt like every single day you could get better at something mechanically. And that was a really appealing aspect of the game," he added.

Always known for his incredible aim, TenZ has taken quite some time to reinvent his playstyle in VALORANT, changing from a hyper-aggressive duellist to a more nuanced controller. Despite blossoming in both roles though, he still finds Counter-Strike more mechanically pleasing.

"You get less random kills [in Counter-Strike]. In my entire time playing CS, grinding up to become a pro player, becoming a pro player, I’ve probably gotten running or jumping headshots fewer times than a singular game of Valorant in my life," he explained.

"Basically everything from a mechanical standpoint is just fundamentally better, in my opinion."

Still, TenZ doesn't look to be keen on making a switch back to Counter-Strike having found his feet at Sentinels again.
