Roblox's Meta Quest open beta hit "well over" 1 million downloads in 5 days
Roblox has extended its reach even further as the Meta Quest open beta has seen a huge number of downloads.
The open beta launched on 27 July and has already been a resounding success garnering a lot of attention from players, with over 1 million downloads in just five days.
The Roblox Meta Quest open beta has received a huge number of downloads
Founder and CEO of Roblox, David Baszucki, took to Twitter to share the good news on 2 August.
He said: “Roblox Beta went live on Meta Quest on 7/27. We have seen well over one million downloads in the first 5 days -- another step towards Roblox everywhere, on all devices.”
The online game platform has a dedicated group of players, making it unsurprising that such a huge number of people have decided to take part in the open beta.
When announcing the beta earlier this month, a spokesperson for Roblox said: “On average, more than 66 million users log into Roblox every day, with a community that spans mobile devices, both iOS and Android, desktops, and Xbox, and we can’t wait to add Meta Quest 2, Quest Pro, and, coming soon, Quest 3 to the mix.”
How do you get involved in the open beta?
The beta is open to anyone over the age of 13 with a Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest Pro.
To access the open beta, make sure your headset is up to date as the game requires it to be updated to v55 or higher. Then you can simply download Roblox from the App Lab and log in using the quick login option on your phone or computer.
Due to the app being an open beta at this stage, there are some issues that are being worked on by the team. These include not being able to purchase Robux through the Quest, not being able to create an account or log in through the headset, no personalised recommendations and occasionally distorted graphics.
