Apex Legends 'hump strafing' trick is absurdly overpowered
Even now, new mechanics when it comes to movement and combat are being discovered in Apex Legends - despite the game being over five years old.
These wild tricks typically revolve around movement and making yourself impossible to hit or track with a weapon. That's not always the case, as a brand-new mechanic has been invented that involves holding onto a door in the most bizarre way possible.
Coinned "hump strafing" by its creator, this trick gives you a free head glitch and makes winning skirmishes significantly easier.
"Hump strafing" tech makes you impossible to hit in Apex Legends
Taking to Twitter on May 14, Apex Legends YouTuber and movement master Treeree shared a brand new mechanic they've been learning.
The "hump strafing" technique is effectively a trick that involves a player mantling onto the top of a door over and over again in quick succession. As the game assumes you will be climbing over the door, it allows you to get your weapon out.
This means you can hold the perfect head glitch and dodge bullets while being able to fire at opponents who barely have a target to aim at.
As you would imagine, this is absolutely infuriating to fight against, and unless you have a Rampage or a grenade to hand, it's going to be tough to counter.
As demonstrated by Treeree in their impressive clip, they get free damage on any opponent they face, as it's like they have a giant shield in front of them while hump strafing.
This isn't a trick that the average Apex player will be able to implement and may take some time to master, but it could be one for the movement demons out there.
It's also quite situational, as it's not guaranteed that you'll always have a door in the correct position for a fight. Even so, the new discoveries in Apex keep coming, and they seem to get more OP and strange every single time.
