What is a multikill in MW3?
Modern Warfare 3 still boasts the same multiplayer CoD formula as its predecessors for the most part, meaning everything from kill streaks to medals is nearly as identical as it was over ten years earlier when the original MW3 released.
So if you're hunting after medals in MW3, or the multikill medal specifically for a challenge, you'll want to know exactly what it is and how it can be achieved in the game.
What is a multikill in MW3?
A multikill is a medal you can earn by killing five or more enemies in quick succession.
Each kill you get will reset the timer to achieve this, so if you only managed to get four kills and then spent ten seconds getting another kill, you won't achieve the multikill and receive the medal.
All of the time-based killing medals work like this, such as double kill, or triple kill. While the exact timing needed to get these medals is unknown, it appears to give you a couple of seconds to secure the next kill before it resets.
How to get the multikill medal
The only real way of getting the multikill medal is to just play the game, but there are some things you take advantage of to have a better chance of securing one.
Firstly, I recommend playing either free-for-all or the ground war mode, as both of these will give you more opponents to potentially kill. With ground war, you can also recruit some friends to help you out.
Secondly, it's worth utilising a more close-range build (especially if you're lucky enough to get into a smaller map) as they typically have the lowest TTK, which gives you a better chance of killing multiple targets quicker.
However, it's worth remembering that a lot of this will come down to luck, so don't worry if it doesn't happen quickly. It's more likely you'll get a multikill when you least expect it anyway.
