The Sims 4 Party Essentials & Urban Homage Kits release date, CAS & Build/Buy items
Two new Kits are coming to The Sims 4 in April, Party Essentials and Urban Homage, following the typical trend of one offering a variation of CAS items, and the other centred around Build/Buy mode.
We've already had three new DLCs for the game so far in 2024, with the most recent being Crystal Creations (which I gave a 4/5 in my review). Urban Homage and Party Essentials does a 180 from what we've seen this year, with bold swatches and new, sparkly items for that upcoming event you're planning to host.
When do Party Essentials & Urban Homage release in The Sims 4?
According to a blog post on The Sims' website, both the Party Essentials & Urban Homage Kits will launch on April 18, 2024 - putting them only about a week away at the time of writing.
As is usually the case, these Kits will be available on that day regardless of whether you play on PC, Mac, or console.
What new content is there?
As I've already mentioned, both packs offer something slightly different to Simmers, with Party Essentials being a Build/Buy Kit, and Urban Homage being focused around CAS.
Maxis has already shared what we'll be able to get in the DLCs, which you can see in the screenshots below:
Interestingly, Urban Homage is made in collaboration with Simmer and content creator Danielle "Ebonix" Udogaranya, with styles inspired by the fashion of the 90s and 2000s in London. It looks like there'll be 27 new assets in the Kit:
- 13 new tops
- 6 new bottoms
- 1 set of nails
- 1 new earring set, 1 new necklace set, 1 new set of piercings, 2 ring sets
- 1 new headwrap
- 1 pair of shoes
I can tell that I'm already going to love this Kit, and the leather-looking laced bottoms, the top that matches it, and the mini skirt will undoubtedly be pieces I use loads on my own Sims.
For Party Essentials, it looks like we'll have 27 new items in total, offering up all sorts from what looks like a new stereo (finally - and it's a vinyl player!) alongside some pretty glitzy lighting, a fog machine, some clutter items, and confetti for covering the floor for those post-bash photos.
As someone who doesn't hold many events in-game, I'm less excited for this Kit, but the clutter items will be useful and that vinyl player will take pride of place in many of my Sims' homes.
Do we know how much Party Essentials & Urban Homage will cost?
The Kits aren't currently available to look up on the EA App, but I'd be really surprised if they're at a different price point than every other DLC in the type we've got so far - which is £4.99 / $4.99 each.
As always, I'll be reviewing these Kits once they've launched so make sure to keep your eyes peeled following launch for my thoughts on whether or not you should pick them up!
