Destiny 2 player recommends wild Raid loadout with forgotten exotic sidearm
A big part of the fun of a game like Destiny 2 is finding character builds to break and trivialise encounters, something that next month's The Final Shape expansion will make a lot easier with the new Prismatic subclass.
While we've got our favourite builds for Titan, Hunter, and Warlock, one post on the Destiny 2 subreddit has reminded us that some of the oldest weapons are still the most fun to play with.
Destiny 2 Raiders are using Rat King to blitz encounters
Over on the Destiny subreddit, space_pelican says their Guardian and their comrades have been packing the Rat King, convincing their fireteam to give up their choice of weapons with "some puppy dog eyes and democracy".
That's important because while the Rat King is pretty basic for the most part, its damage stacks and becomes full-auto when used with other players in an activity. In fact, it can stack this effect six times if your entire Raid party is wielding it.
Needing to use it against Taniks in the Deep Stone Crypt Raid, the Rat King-wielding team eliminated the big guy in just two damage phases, before shifting to Vault of Glass, which was "magical" as all six players stuck to their gun (literally), only using the Rat King.
That inspired more players to share their Rat King success stories and builds. One suggested "6-stack Osmiomancy Warlocks with Rat King is brutal in Iron Banner as well", while another suggested the same tactic "had people on the other team rage quitting left and right".
How to get the Rat King
While it used to have its own post-game quest with riddles to solve, the Rat King now can be found in the Monument to Lost Lights kiosk in the Tower.
It'll set you back 1 Exotic Cipher, 100k in Glimmer, and an Ascendant Shard. That's steep, but still cheaper than many exotics from the Kiosk. Better yet, it's available for all players, so you don't need any of the expansions to use it.
