Throughout the years, League of Legends has expanded its usual MOBA status into much wider realms. Whether it be through anime series like Arcane or cinematics to expand on the lore of the in-game characters, Riot Games has been making sure LoL isn't the same 5v5 experience that would have gotten tedious some 15 years later.

There has also been a lot of focus on in-game modes too, and now the latest LTM is on its way with a brand-new PvE experience.

Introducing Swarm, League of Legends' fifth PvE mode. This mode will see Anima Squad return from its last venture in Bullet Haven and be placed in the most chaotic wave survival mode yet.

League of Legends meets CoD Zombies in this latest PvE mode named Swarm, as Anima Squad return to take on hordes of enemies wave after wave.

Swarm will see the beloved Anima Squad return as the antagonistic Primordians will act like "white blood cells" and swarm over your whereabouts until you are swallowed whole.

The aim of the game: survive for as long as possible. Already, playtesters have praised the mode for being a brilliant blend of chaos and struggle, allowing you to get really sweaty and immersed in this League of Legends spin-off concept.

This comes as a heavily-co-op mode too, which differs from previous PvE experiences, which could work as a solo game, as players will need to rely on friends for revives and kills. The enemies come in varying sizes and strengths, so you need to scale your own character up quickly to ensure you're capable of taking down the beasts later in the game.

Swarm will also bring WASD controls to League of Legends for the first time ever, as Riot Games has also reworked a number of the Anima Squad Champions to suit the new key layout and adapt their abilities to help fend off these starving enemies.

The Anima Squad also sees the return of some of League of Legends' most popular skins, such as Battle Cat Jinx.
