FaZe Banks and Nadeshot to roll back the years with iconic 1v1 Rust showcase match
Rust. We've seen it a lot in recent years, having been remastered so many times that its shine has turned copper-orange as its name suggests, but it persists as the ultimate feud-settling battleground.
It's the podium of heroes, a place where champions are made in Call of Duty. An arena where beef is squashed and players butt heads until only one is left flexing.
Fifteen years after first launching, two Call of Duty titans turned organisation owners are now rolling back the years and heading to the iconic map to truly crown who is better: 100 Thieves or FaZe Clan.
Nadeshot and FaZe Banks to clash in Call of Duty 1v1
Having once been two of the most popular and cheesy Call of Duty content creators, Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag and Richard "FaZe Banks" Bengtson are now respective owners of two of esports' largest organisations in FaZe Clan and 100 Thieves respectively.
But they are now heading back to their roots, as Nadeshot has challenged Banks to a 1v1 on Rust, and the FaZe guru accepted.
"Intervention radar on first to to 20, is an absolute lock. You won’t touch double digits papa. Lock it in RIGHT NOW," Banks said on social media, after seeing the challenge circulate.
The stakes? Well, Nadeshot set a precedent on a recent podcast with Jack "CouRage" Dunlop, saying that the winner gets the chance to operate all social media profile pictures for the losers' handles.
Nadeshot and FaZe Banks collide in friendly-fire trash talk
It's not yet known when the show match will take place. CouRage called on the Call of Duty League to host it, possibly during the World Championships hosted by OpTic, and both legends appeared on FaceTime shortly after with OpTic CEO Hector "H3CZ" Rodriguez. Or maybe it might be a Cash App stream special.
One thing is for certain though, the boxing gloves are off!
"The disrespect in the replies is crazy. Yall really forgot the SLB days? I got 100 days of my sad pathetic f**king life spent sitting in a chair on Rust with the radar on. If you can bet on this put your f**king life’s savings on the kid. This a money glitch." said Banks on Twitter.
"There's no way you're winning the f**king thing unless you want to match fix," Nadeshot fired back. "I'm slamming that mf," he added.
Money might best be put on Nadeshot for this, given that he still resides a place in the Top 250 on MW3 Ranked, although anything can happen when Banks gets an Intervention in his hand.
