Kai Cenat’s Elden Ring run hits 11 bosses and a lot of tears
Even the most die-hard gamers might've put Elden Ring down by now. For some of us, we bailed out after hours of grinding against Margit, the Fell Omen, with the mere thought of taking on Radagon of The Golden Order making us break out in a cold sweat.
For others, they've unearthed all the secrets of the Lands Between and replay Elden Ring just for fun. Since the game's release in 2022, we're seen some truly imaginative ways to play, with gamers taking on everything from harps to a Fisher-Price Gamepad. But, just imagine doing it in one continuous stream.
Kai Cenat continues his epic Elden Ring stream
Simply completing Elden Ring normally is enough for many, and taking this in his stride, streamer Kai Cenat is doing just that. Attempting to finish FromSoftware's Soulsborne game in one continuous stream, Kai Cenat is currently just over 106 hours and 1,070 deaths into this ordeal.
At last count, he managed to polish off Malekith, the Black Blade - meaning he's ticked 11 of those big bads off his list. He's currently being pummelled by Mohg, Lord of Blood, and as it's considered one of the most difficult bosses in the game, we never assumed he'd be able to do it in one.
Kai Cenat has proved himself as quite the expert Elden Ring player, and despite clocking in over 1,000 deaths, he won a bet from Adin Ross. The Kick streamer promised Cenat $100K if he could beat Godfrey, First Elden Lord, on his first go. He did it with ease, so we guess Ross had better pay up.
Blood, sweat, and tears
Of course, it's not all been plain sailing. As Kai Cenat's death toll suggests, this has been a real labour of love and loss. We thought he might pack the whole thing in after he was brought to tears when fighting the Red Wolf of Radagon. After being bested again, he approached the camera with tears running down his face.
It's not considered a particularly tough boss, and when Bandai Namco revealed its list of the game's hardest, Radagon of the Golden Order popped up but his his Red Wolf didn't appear in the top five. Then again, it took Cenat a whopping six hours to beat the Tree Sentinel, which is an optional boss.
Kai Cenat seems committed to the cause, and as his dreams of polishing off the epic saga of Elden Ring in under 100 hours have been and gone, it feels like the Elden Throne is just a dot in the distance. Hey, the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC might be out by the time Kai Cenat has finished the main game.
