Marvel Rivals was recently announced and although there was no release date, the announcement did arrive with confirmation the game would be on PC - yet, there was no mention of consoles. Console players watched on enviously as the alpha test began.
The game’s closest comparison point, from everything that’s been shown so far, will be Overwatch, and now we know the 6v6 shooter will come to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, too.

Good news, true believers - Marvel Rivals will launch on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S when it arrives (we still don't have a release date, sadly), and we now have Venom and Adam Warlock added to the roster.
The console trailer was shown at Sony's State of Play, but a Marvel blog post confirms Xbox players will be able to enjoy the Hero shooter, too.
While the first alpha test was PC-only, Marvel Rivals players on all platforms will be able to jump into a closed beta in late July 2024 on all of its platforms including PlayStation and Xbox, as well as PC.
"This large-scale test will invite players in North America and Europe along with other regions, with more details coming closer to the test," the post reads.
PlayStation players get an exclusive Scarlet Spider skin, too, which you can see below.
"With the confirmation of console platforms, NetEase Games is thrilled at the prospects to greatly expand the audience for Marvel Rivals," said Ethan Wang NetEase, Inc's Senior Vice President.
“As we move closer to our closed beta phase, we look forward to direct community feedback and engaging with our players to create the best possible Super Hero experience.”
