In the VALORANT Champions Tour match between Cloud9 and 100 Thieves, Kelden "Boostio" Pupello mouse died mid-round, requiring the in-game leader to think on his feet and contribute to his team's round victory.

With the team winning the round with essentially a man down, Boostio didn’t hold back in his reaction to his team's victory.

Look ma, no hands

In the US American derby in VCT Americas, 100 Thieves and Cloud9 faced off against each other in Week 3, promising to be an exciting match with both organisations coming off a victory in their prior matches.

Cloud9 was arguably seen as the favourite after winning their three opening matches amounting to a small streak while 100 Thieves were beaten by Masters Madrid champions Sentinels in their first match of the stage.

With tension high on map 1 and 100 Thieves in the lead at a score of 9-6 and about a minute left on a crucial attack round, Boostio's mouse gave up and left him no choice but to look for creative solutions.

Navigating to the A side with just his keyboard, Boostio assists in executing by throwing his agent in front of the opponent, as teammate Sean "bang" Bezerra capitalises on the attention given to Boostio's pacified body.

As the round kept rolling, 100 Thieves won a couple of crucial duels and eventually took the round, causing Boostio to jump out of his chair and mock his opponents for losing, what essentially amounted to a 4v5. In the aftermath, the IGL can be seen negotiating with the referee, seemingly communicating that he has another mouse backstage to help fix the tech issue.

100 Thieves continued to take Bind and roll their advantage into a clean 2-0 victory over Cloud9, who suffered their first loss at the hands of the thieves.

After an almost year-long draught of little success, 100 Thieves’s VALORANT team is shaping up to be a serious contender, not least due to the recruitment of the Championship-winning Boostio that had come over from Evil Geniuses during the off-season.

With the exception of Daniel "eeiu" Vucenovic, the 100 Thieves squad has been playing together since 2022 and yet seems to have found new confidence with the introduction of the in-game leader.

In Week 4 of VCT Americas, 100 Thieves will face KRÜ Esports on April 29 at 11 pm CET / 10 pm BST. A victory against the so-far unbeaten South American organisation could place the team in the top position of Group Omega.
