Mason Greenwood set to come back to EA FC 24 Ultimate Team
With winter settling in and the frost already glossing over grassroots pitches all over the world, weekends are transitioning away from football in the cold to EA FC session under the warmth of a blanket with an eye on Soccer Saturday.
As the cold sets in, football season is going digital again and with it comes EA FC's holiday season plans, where Ultimate Team will get cosy with some festive promotions and objectives.
As usual, this time of the year will also spark the need for the Winter update, where EA rolls out its biggest patch yet, balancing gameplay and adjusting the Ultimate Team squads, and the latter will see some rather eyebrow-raising players be added to the online mode.
94 new players set to be added to EA FC 24 Ultimate Team
As part of the Winter update for EA FC 24, a number of players who didn't quite make the cut at the start of the year will be added to the database and transfer market.
One of the most exciting additions will be Adama Traore, whose deal with Fulham dragged on longer than the EA FC cutoff point. He's come back to the title with a vengeance and a Player Moments SBC, which is rumoured to have the Quick Step Playstyle+ and the ability to play at Right Back.
Other names that have been confirmed to be arriving include the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla, and Ismael Bennacer. Oh, and Mason Greenwood is leaked to be coming too...
Mason Greenwood is among players to be added to Ultimate Team in Winter update
Although this one hasn't been confirmed directly from EA, akin to Traore and Cazorla, leaks have suggested that Getafe CF forward Mason Greenwood will also be added to the Ultimate Team database.
The controversial winger has featured for the Spanish side twelve times this season, scoring four and assisting three, reigniting his playing career away from Manchester United.
He was originally removed from FIFA and EA FC after the court case against him for allegations of attempted rape, engaging in controlling behaviour, and assault. These charges have now been dropped, and Greenwood has been integrated back into professional football.
The news that he will return to Ultimate Team has split opinions already, with Greenwood's fans being happy but many other players being wary of this addition, given his off-field controversies and the integration of women's football in the card-based mode.
Greenwood was first added back to EA FC 24 in non-online modes at the start of the year, but EA FC spokespersons always eluded to his addition in Ultimate Team down the line.
