Fortnite's Star Wars collection comes at an eye-watering price
Fortnite’s collaborations with Star Wars have been long-standing, with many skins being made available years ago and still remaining massively popular with players.
Standing as perhaps the biggest property the game has ever collaborated with, the skins seem to keep on coming, with a bizarre new Yoda Back Bling to welcome in the next (Bad) Batch of cosmetics and items - but some players have been horrified to discover what it’d take to score the lot.
Fortnite’s new Star Wars collab could be about to run you 20k V-Bucks
The latest Star Wars collab that has touched down in Fortnite has been a treat for many fans of the starfaring adventure, introducing some major new cosmetics. Fans have fallen for the new Yoda Back Bling, and skins based on Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca - but they’ve discovered that if they want everything on offer, they’re going to be seriously out of pocket.
The game has offered skins with the fairly standard system of buying them in the in-game shop at fairly standard prices, as well as a new minor battle pass to unlock some items for the very first Lego Star Wars and Lego Fortnite crossover.
However, the Lego Kits that give players the chance to build their own Tatooine village are immensely steep, and now Fortnite insider Shiina has estimated that the entire package of Star Wars content on display right now will run a player a whopping 20,000 V-Bucks, with the LEGO Kits making up 8,000 of them. That’s as much as £139.80 in real money.
Fortnite delivers some massively extortionate drops every once in a while, but this may be a new low, especially for the dedicated players of LEGO Fortnite still developing amazing builds. It’s a gutting result that has led players to fume, and it’s clear to see why. We’ll take your little Yoda, Fortnite, but we have to draw the line somewhere.
