Baldur’s Gate 3 dev warns ‘bear sex’ is ‘nothin’ on what’s still to come’
Call it nerdy all you like, but goddamn, is the base concept for Dungeon & Dragons good. Getting dropped into a fantasy world, by a dungeon master who has hand-sculpted a story for you to mess around with as you see fit, is surely the best fun in the world. When you're really into it, it could be a transformative gaming experience.
It's this that has led Baldur's Gate to such incredible success, and with its third title around the corner, the endlessness of a D&D world is almost in players' hands. We just might not have been ready for how horny it's going to be.
Baldur's Gate 3 lets you have sex with a bear
That's not a typo. We're dead serious. In a bizarre press release, Larian Studios has revealed that while in-game, players can sexually engage with a Druid while they're wildshaped. In other words, you can bang a bear.
"Have you ever considered the joys and pleasures of sexual congress with a wildshaped Druid?" says lead writer Adam Smith. "Because at Larian, we have, and ultimately landed on the side of giving the people what they want: tender, consensual romance with a man temporarily transformed into a grizzly bear." Um… cool.
It's big news for those who want to diddle a bear (and we're hoping that makes for all of none of you), but it turns out this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Baldur's Gate 3's sexual encounters don't end here
Though details are sparse when it comes to the romantic encounters in Baldur's Gate 3, senior writer John Corcoran knows what the people want, and has let them know that there's plenty more to come.
"Spent the past week or so doing final tests on some companion romance arcs, and… damn, I'm still surprised at just how horny this game is," he said on Twitter. "Bear's got nothin' on what's still to come." Oh, good.
Although Corcoran doesn't expand on what other sexual encounters are out there, it sounds like even he doesn't know. This is big news for the horniest of D&D fans who were too nervous to try to court a centaur in a campaign with their mates. Your time has finally come.
