The Day Before devs set server shutdown date
There's a certain amount of irony in the way that a horror game has been bitten, become infected, and died on its backside in just a matter of weeks after it arrived with such lofty promises made.
Hearts do go out to those developers who poured their hearts and souls into its development, but The Day Before's launch will go down in history for all the wrong reasons, as a result of investment issues and some questionable hierarchy decisions.
Instead of being the next massive zombie-fighting looter-shooter MMO, The Day Before is dead, and a funeral date has been set as developer FNTASTIC reveals when it'll pull the plug.

Taking to Twitter, the developers confirmed that the servers will now be shutting down on January 22, 2024, and The Day Before will be officially retired.
The horror game only launched on December 7, giving it just a six-week lifetime, although it's not surprising given the across-the-board 1/10 ratings by critics like IGN.
The Day Before refunds could set new precedent for Steam
Having been labelled as a "scam" by fans, Steam and Fntastic previously confirmed that players who bought the game can begin requesting refunds through the online store.
But in Fntastic's latest post, it claimed, "For any players that have not already had their purchase refunded, Steam will now proactively refund all remaining players."
As pointed out by TheActMan_YT on Twitter, this might just be the first time ever that Valve has recognised a game is so bad that they automatically refund everyone who bought it.
It might just be the cherry on top of the cake that confirms The Day Before as the worst game of all time, which is a jarring contrast to its incredible trailer.
