Well, we thought we were in for a normal Tuesday. It's unlike game companies to drop unceremonious announcements, what with the Nintendo Direct practically uprooting how companies reveal their news, but that doesn't stop many giants from just dropping news out of the blue.

And it looks like FromSoftware are one of them, as it has revealed some of the most anticipated news in the gaming industry on a random Tuesday morning. At least let us roll out of bed first, guys.

Elden Ring Reveals Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC

In a shock announcement that has simply plonked onto Twitter, it has been officially revealed that the long-awaited Elden Ring DLC is in active development.

Revealing the news on the official Elden Ring account, FromSoftware has announced that the first DLC for the game is titled Shadow of the Erdtree, and it has come packed with some brand-new concept art.

Calls for a new story expansion for Elden Ring have been echoing around fan circles ever since the game first landed and won the hearts of critics and players alike, so this news is an absolute treat for many. But there's still some uncertainty.

When Is Shadow Of The Erdtree Coming Out?

The team hasn't revealed a planned release window just yet, but hopes remain high that it will launch at some point in 2023.

It's hard to say if FromSoftware will be able to get the DLC pack out sooner than the end of the year, if all they have to show us right now is concept art, so we could be in for a wait - but merely knowing that Shadow of the Erdtree is on the way is a big deal.

Regardless of when we get it, though, we're finally getting that Elden Ring DLC that we've been hoping for, and that's certainly worth celebrating.
