The new Greek mythology-themed locations in Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 2 have changed up the best landing spots. Not only are they fun to explore, but they also contain some powerful weapons like the Thunderbolt of Zeus and the Wings of Icarus!
This completely shifts the landscape, and as such I've updated this list to reflect those changes. So without further ado, here are my picks for the best landing spots in the game.
Best landing spots in Fortnite
Unsurprisingly, the new locations added to the map in Chapter 5: Season 2 feature heavily in this list, as they contain some of the best loot. Bear in mind that, while you might get the best returns for dropping around Mount Olympus or The Underworld, these areas are very popular, so expect plenty of resistance.
5. Charon's Cross
Charon's Cross is a landmark south of The Underworld and west of Grim Gate, and it's an excellent place to start off in The Underworld biome. It isn't the busiest location, but it gives you a decent place to start loading up with a handful of chests to loot.
Once you're ready to move on, you are close to both The Underworld and Grim Gate, allowing you to make an informed decision about which location you want to move towards.
4. Pantheon Path
Much like Charon's Cross, Pantheon Path is a smaller location close to some much larger ones. It's just west of Mount Olympus, allowing you to drop in the region without landing right on top of dozens of other players.
There are plenty of loot opportunities here, and once you're good to go you can scope out Mount Olympus for potential loot and enemies, or if it doesn't seem worth it you can move west to Fencing Fields, then further on through the map as the circle closes.
3. Grim Gate
Back to the Underworld region, Grim Gate is a step up in size and danger, but also potential loot. There's plenty of good loot to find here, with potential for god chests while still being quite central on the map.
If you're feeling particularly prepared, this location is where the Cerberus boss fight can be engaged. If you manage to take down the hound of hell, his Mythic shotgun is yours to take - as well as the Aspect medallion that lets you dash through the air.
2. Research Rock
This spot is the most remote of the bunch, sitting on the very southeast corner of the map. Despite being out of the way, it's packed with chests, making it a great spot for loading up on weapons and items.
The downside of this location is you might need to hoof it if the circle is far away, but the upside is the fact that you'll be very close to both Brawler's Battleground and Mount Olympus. If you're looking to take down Ares or Zeus himself, this is a great place to start your match.
1. Summit Temple/Base Camp
Our pick for the best landing spot in Chapter 5: Season 2 is a combination of the Summit Temple and Summit Base Camp. This whole area is one of the most densely packed with chests as you have two useful areas pretty much right beside each other.
Drop directly onto the Base Camp and loot all of the chests there, before heading down the hill to the Temple. This area is a bit out of the way but it shouldn't take you long at all to fully loot the area and move on. It's also a good bit out of the way, so you're less likely to run into other players straight away.
