As we enter a new era of video games coming to live-action, fans are wondering what's next. And the answer seems to be, well, anything.

The Last of Us is proving that the successes of The Witcher weren't just a fluke, and with the likes of God of War, Horizon and Gran Turismo coming to live-action, it's clear Hollywood is ready to give the video game adaptation another spin.

Everything is running smoothly so far, with exciting projects on the horizon - and Ghost of Tsushima is one of them.

We don't know an awful lot about the film itself just yet, but as information starts to trickle in thanks to interviews, we've got a little morsel from director Chad Stahelski. Sadly, it's not exactly good news.

Though fans have been waiting patiently for more details on the Ghost of Tsushima movie, the latest update from its prospective director isn't all sunshine and roses.

Stahelski is known as the man behind the John Wick series, and is the hopeful director of the Ghost of Tsushima. He's confirmed that even though he'd like it to be his next film, logistics mean it could be some time before he gets around to it.

"[Ghost of Tsushima] would be my favourite to do next," Stahelski tells Total Film (transcribed by Slash Film). "Without going into crazy detail, it's something I'm super-interested in.

"We have a really great script. We have a really good creative team behind it. It's just about getting all the business end of things locked in. It's kind of in that little bit of flux where everybody is trying to tighten up the deal to get everything going, and to make sure we do the best with it."

Chad Stahelski - Ghost Of Tsushima "Is A Special Project"

Thankfully, despite the struggles the movie might be suffering behind the scenes, Stahelski is still immensely passionate about the project.

"Obviously, Ghost is a special project. Everybody realises it. Everybody wants to do it, with the introduction of new technologies and a new way to do the epic samurai vibe [...]"

Explaining the delay, Stahelski added, "There's just a lot of things to put together before we really pull the trigger on making it, mostly from my side creatively. And we're in that process right now, trying to pull everything together so we knock it out of the park."

Ghost of Tsushima could be a way off, but with Stahelski at the helm, we have faith that it will be a treat when it finally arrives. We'll start sharpening our swords.
