Activision denies that 300GB Black Ops 6 will destroy your console
For all its wins, Call of Duty has become quite renowned as the console killer. By sheer lack of space alone, if you play CoD, you don't play much else - especially if you flick between multiplayer and Warzone.
The massive updates have caused chaos with file sizes reaching triple figures for a single installation, and Black Ops 6 popping its head up over the horizon means only one thing...pain for your console.
The file size for Black Ops 6 could have been catastrophic if rumours were to be believed, too, but Activision has now been forced to take to social media to rubbish any ideas that the next Call of Duty would be 300GB in size.

300GB?! Yes, you're reading right. At first glance, it looked like Black Ops 6 was set to need 300GB worth of storage, which would have made it the biggest game ever ahead of Ark: Survival, Baldur's Gate 3, and Red Dead Redemption 2. "Only GTA VI should be that big," were the cries from the community.
But Activision has now come out and said that this isn't strictly true, and the 300GB is for the entirety of CoD HQ. As a refresher, this also includes Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Warzone, and any additional packs like campaigns.
"Players will be able to download Black Ops 6 at launch without downloading any other Call of Duty titles or all of the language packs," Activision said on Twitter via the CODUpdates channel.
There's still no official confirmation on Black Ops 6 specifically, although it would be quite safe to assume that the files will still be upward of 100GB.
For reference, Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer, Warzone, and the CoD HQ client still house around 170 GB. "The actual estimation of the Black Ops 6 file size will be available closer to launch," Activision added.
Maybe it's pretty savvy from Call of Duty. If you can barely house CoD itself, there's no chance that you're holding XDefiant on the hard drive, too.
