Since we’re reliving MW2, fans want a Campaign hero to return
Despite recent efforts to implement more original maps, modes, and characters, Modern Warfare 3 did launch as MW2 (2009) remastered. At least on the multiplayer front.
The rebooted series has brought back some legends of the Call of Duty series too, with Captain Price and the Task Force 141 gang all being flagship faces.
But there is one MW2 (2009) icon who never made it over, and the current crop of fans are now calling for his return.
Modern Warfare 3 fans wish for a Sergeant Foley Operator
Sergeant Foley. The man, the myth, the legend. Having been one of the most-loved protagonists in MW2, he never made the transition forward and was left behind in the series, although his status is still "alive," according to the Fandom.
Modern Warfare 3 players have now called for Foley to be added to the current series, taking to a Reddit post titled, "Can we get a Sgt. Foley skin for Spawn?" to express their desire.
"Sgt Foley was a pretty notable part of MW2 2009’s Ranger sections of the campaign but they never brought him over to MW2 2022 or MW 2023," the poster said.
They continued, "I really wish more of the MW characters outside of 141 got love, it’s always just ghost soap price and such then everyone else just gets forgotten."
Sergeant Foley's voice actor is already in MW3
There's an easy solution to adding SGT. Foley too, as the man who voiced the legendary character is already in Modern Warfare 3.
Keith David, who voiced Foley in 2009, is also the actor who plays Spawn in multiple films and series, and also voices said character in the Spawn Modern Warfare 2 crossover which continued into Modern Warfare 3.
A second fan took to the Reddit thread to add, "Ah come on Sledgehammer this is a home run. We already have an operator voiced by Keith David in the game. What I wouldn't do to hear "RAMIREZ!" again." Foley remains a relic of a bygone era for now, but with some time left on MW3's clock, who knows?
