A Quiet Place Game Is Officially On The Way
Can we get a little hush, please? A video game based on A Quiet Place is apparently on the way. While horror fans will likely have heard of John Krasinski's 2018 movie and its 2021 sequel, the idea could be about to enter a new medium.
What Is The A Quiet Place Video Game?
A tweet posted on the @AQuietPlaceGame account confirms a game is coming to help expand the universe. Following the first two movies, we already know a spin-off is planned for 2023 and lead actor Emily Blunt has discussed the potential of a full-blown third movie. Now, iLLOGIKA is working on an official A Quiet Place game.
There are further details on what the game will involve, with a press release confirming it will tell an original story. Discussing A Quiet Place, Hervé Sliwa, Creative Director at iLLOGIKA, said: "The A Quiet Place video game will let fans experience the tension of the films with a level of immersion they’ve never felt before. We’re excited to work with EP1T0ME and to team up with Saber Interactive to share this unique vision of hope and horror with players everywhere in the future."
Either way, we can imagine an Alien: Isolation style of stealth gameplay when you have to evade the Death Angels from the movies.
Who Else Is Handling The A Quiet Place Video Game?
The A Quiet Place video game will be developed by a handful of developers, with it looking like Saber interactive will be publishing. For those who don't know, Saber previously worked on the Nintendo Switch port of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and released World War Z in 2019.
Todd Hollenshead, Head of Publishing at Saber Interactive, added, "The amazing success of the A Quiet Place movies makes it clear audiences are hungry for more adventures in this universe, and iLLOGIKA is creating their own truly engaging experience that lives up to the name of this beloved property. We are proud to say that A Quiet Place is the first game we will be releasing by an external studio from the growing Saber publishing label."
The A Quiet Place game is set to be unveiled later this year. This is all we have to go on when it comes to A Quiet Place, but with sensory horrors being everyone on the silver screen, it's an untapped genre of potential in the world of video games.
