Destiny 2 Lightfall: What's Wrong With Current Loadouts?
Click to enlargeThe problem that Destiny 2 has had for the longest time with its systems is its clunky interfaces. This is particularly problematic with armour modifications in Destiny 2, as the player has to move through every single armour piece to insert every single mod into every single slot. Take into account that there are 5 different armour pieces with 4 mod slots each. That’s a lot of moving around mods just to get a loadout that you want going. Especially if you’re looking to change into a different subclass that requires other mods, it makes changing builds in Destiny incredibly frustrating and time-consuming.

Destiny 2 Lightfall: New Loadouts System Explained
Bungie is looking to fix that with the new loadout system being introduced with Lightfall. The loadout system will allow players to save their loadout in a slot to be used later. This’ll allow players to easily transition between builds at a click of a button, a feature that would only be available otherwise through Destiny Item Manager, a third-party program.
When Can You Switch Destiny 2 Loadouts With Lightfall?
While existing options like Destiny Item Manager and the Destiny 2 companion app can allow players to move gear between characters and the vault while in Orbit between activities, Bungie claimed in a recent preview that players will be able to switch instantly without leaving the current activity.
Can Destiny 2 Loadouts Use Items From Your Vault?
Yes! If you have the required number of slots free on your character, you can use a loadout to grab items from your vault.
Sadly, it won't return items to your vault, though -- you'll need to do that manually. Bungie has noted this functionality could come in the future, though.
What Is Included In Destiny 2 Loadouts?
The following are included as part of Destiny 2 Loadouts:

- Ornaments
Destiny 2 Lightfall: New Mod Manager
Alongside this, a new mod manager will be coming to Destiny 2 with the release of Lightfall. This mod manager will be a singular screen that players can go to in order to swap out their currently equipped mods. This system seems miles better than the current time-consuming version and should hopefully smooth out a lot of issues players have with build crafting.
How Many Loadouts Can Be Saved In Destiny 2?
Players can save 10 loadouts per character, meaning you can have up to 30 options.
You'll be able to unlock more using the Guardian Ranks system, which will help introduce new players to Destiny 2 while highlighting your achievements in-game.
All in all, these look like fantastic quality-of-life changes for Destiny 2. It’s been a long time coming but the player base is truly glad to see Bungie listening to their qualms and responding in kind.
