Destiny 2 Lightfall: LFG System Explained
Do you want to know what the Destiny 2 LFG system is? Destiny 2 has always had trouble bringing in new players, with so much to learn straight off the bat. This problem is made even worse by the fact that most Destiny 2 activities are group-focused, leaving new solo players out in the cold. Fortunately, Bungie is looking to change up the matchmaking experience for players with the release of Lightfall.

Destiny 2 Lightfall: LFG Feature Explained
At the showcase for Lightfall, Bungie announced a new Looking For Group feature that will arrive with the expansion. This feature will allow players to use a forum-like system to ask for other players to join them.
We’ve had this for a while in Destiny in the form of 3rd party applications like Discord, but having this feature in-game is a huge quality-of-life improvement for the game. All in all this feature should help players gather together to tackle some of Destiny 2’s hardest content.
Destiny 2 Lightfall: Player Commendation System Explained
Alongside an LFG system, Destiny 2 will be releasing a player commendation system to increase interaction between players as well as player customizability. This system will allow players to commend other Guardians they interacted with during activities and award them based on how they performed.
All these commendations will be displayed on your player profile for others to see. This will play into the LFG system, as you will be able to see a player's commendations and judge whether or not you want to play with them. So, make sure you’re not a toxic Guardian!
Destiny 2 Lightfall: Guardian Ranks Explained
Lightfall comes with a slew of changes to improve player experience such as Guardian Ranks, which is a new system to display player prowess by their accomplishments in Destiny 2. This system will help differentiate new players from more veteran ones, which should better represent a player's skill level to others.
There are a total of 11 ranks at the current moment, each of which will require the player to do various activities as well as interact with other players. The ranks are less about bragging rights and more about showing your skill and experience in the game.
Players with high Guardian Ranks will be prime candidates to join up with when you are using the Destiny 2 LFG system. High-ranking Guardians are all but guaranteed to be skilled, helpful teammates.
