June's PlayStation Plus games include SpongeBob Squarepants, GTA San Andreas & more

Everybody loves it when the new PlayStation Plus games roll around, with new Essential titles to claim forever, and a bunch of hotly anticipated titles entering the PS Plus subscription library.

While some games will unfortunately leave the service, the addition of new experiences always gives you something to play, and I know I've discovered some of my favourite games in recent times through all three tiers.

All Essential PS+ games for June

• SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake
• AEW Fight Forever
• Streets of Rage 4

While not quite as exciting as last month's offerings, there are still three free games that you should definitely pick up in June. If you're a fan of platforming and pineapples under the sea then SpongeBob is the place to go, whereas anyone looking for combat action in the ring or in the streets should check out AEW Fight Forever and Streets of Rage 4.

Claim these games on June 4, 2024, but you've thankfully got until June 18 to pick up EA FC 24 from last month's offerings - a must in my eyes ahead of the Euros this summer!

Here are the May Extra & Premium PS+ games

• Red Dead Redemption 2
• Deceive Inc.
• The Sims 4 City Living (required The Sims 4 to play)
• Crime Boss: Rockay City
• The Settlers: New Allies
• Stranded: Alien Dawn
• Cat Quest
• Cat Quest 2
• The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame
• Watch Dogs

All titles listed above will be available on May 21, so you'll have plenty to choose from when that day arrives.

There's no doubt that the headliner here is Red Dead Redemption 2, as Rockstar's Wild West epic is well-known as one of the best games in recent memory. You'll be able to don the hat of outlaw Arthur Morgan as you experience a saga full of emotion. Definitely check it out if you haven't already!

You'll also be able to dive into a plethora of other games like Cat Quest, Watch Dogs, and even Crime Boss: Rockay City if the all-star cast appeals to you.

Days of Play additions

There are also a couple of extra games being added to the Extra and Premium lineup as part of the Days of Play celebration:

Classics Collection

In addition to the games highlighted above, there will be three PlayStation Classics games joining the PlayStation Premium service:

• Star Wars: The Clone Wars (June 11)
• Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (June 11)
