Vitality breaks RLCS record with Spring Split hat-trick
Shortly after picking up a 16-year-old prodigy, Team Vitality has warped from a top-four team in Europe to currently the most in-form team in the world - just weeks before Spring Major in Boston and the World Championships in Dusseldorf.
Team Vitality has undergone a massive transition over the last few years, having edged out legends of the game who made them the most esteemed organisations in Rocket League.
Now, having completed the reform, Team Vitality is back. Having soared to the top of the pile in the Spring Split, they've now broken multiple RLCS records.
Team Vitality become the first RLCS EU team to complete Regional Hat-Trick
Team Vitality has now won all three Regionals in Europe's Spring Split, after they disposed of Team BDS in the Spring Invitational Grand Final, winning every single game throughout the three events.
The undefeated hat trick is the first time a team in Europe has done this, even bettering the results of the prime BDS team that dominated RLCS X.
The record has been achieved in other less-competitive RLCS regions, with APAC's James Cheese (now Elevate) winning the three-peat in this season's Fall Split, and the ever-dominant Team Falcons achieving the feat in Winter, Fall, and Spring last year.
zen becomes the first-ever RLCS rookie to win opening three events
After being hyped up to as the next wonderkid, Alexis "zen" Bernier has proven his fans right, and his critics wrong. The 16-year-old superstar is the first player ever to win their first three RLCS events (in NA and EU, given Falcons' trio opened their account in RLCS with an undefeated season as Sandrock Gaming).
Previously, the record stood at two back-to-back events, as Team BDS' Evan "M0nkey M00n" Rogez and Marc "MaRc_By_8." Domingo won their two opening rookie Regionals.
zen has arrived bang on time too, as now Vitality looks to be red-hot favourites to win the Boston Major and the World Championships, as the prodigy will set foot on the main stage for the first time.
