Three ways to get Meteorite Ore in The Witcher 3
The Witcher 3 has a fairly simple crafting system for making weapons, armour, and potions, but you'll need to do some resource collecting if you want to make the most of the system.
So, if you're looking to collect some Meteorite Ore in The Witcher 3, we've got you covered with how to find it easily in the game.
How to get Meteorite Ore
Meteorite Ore is one of the rarer crafting resources in the game, making it expensive to purchase and difficult to find. It's primarily used for crafting the Griffin, Bear, and Wolf armour sets, so you'll need a few if you plan on making whole sets of Witcher armour. Below, we will cover some of the best ways to find this rare component.
Looting
This is a bit of a general tip, but looting everything you can during your playthrough will ensure that you are consistently blessed with crafting components. Obviously, rarer resources like Meteorite Ore won't turn up super often, but you can always chance upon them on random bodies, chests, or crates.
A specific location that is great for looting Meteorite Ore and Meteorite Ingots (which can be dismantled into two ores) is Crows Perch in Velen, where you start the Blood Baron questline.
If you climb a ladder near the quartermaster, you can make your way across the roofs, and looting up here can often earn you a few Meteorite Ingots for crafting.
Blacksmiths
If you can't find a resource, then purchasing it is the next best option. Meteorite Ore is pretty expensive, costing anywhere between 80 and 135 crowns, but many blacksmiths will have a few to sell.
So, if you've got the extra cash, it's worth visiting all of them in a circuit to fill your stocks. This is also the best option for when you're missing just one or two components for crafting a specific item, as it saves you spending potentially hours just tracking them down.
Dismantling
All pieces of gear in The Witcher 3 can be dismantled for their raw components, which is a good way to get rid of old gear you no longer need but don't want to sell for a pittance.
Items like the Broken Meteorite Pickaxe, the Dull Meteorite Pickaxe, or Meteorite Ingot can be dismantled for two Meteorite Ore, which is super helpful for gathering the components.
With the above methods, you should have enough Meteorite Ore to craft whatever gear you want.
