You Can Now Play As John Wick In Cyberpunk 2077

As players wait patiently for the next-gen remastering of Cyberpunk 2077, there's still plenty to explore until we can dive into the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. Although CD Projekt Red's sci-fi shooter was tipped to be one of the biggest games of the decade, it rounded off 2010-2020 with something of a disastrous launch. With the developers scrambling to make the best version of the game they can, official modding support means you can see a very different version of Night City - depending on your personal tastes.

Aside from its ambitious Blade Runner-inspired backdrop, another of Cyberpunk 2077's big pulls was the addition of Keanu Reeves. Following in the footsteps of Gary Oldman in Call of Duty, Samuel L. Jackson in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Kristen Bell in Assassin's Creed, and Mads Mikkelsen in Death Stranding, Reeves is the latest megastar to lend his likeness to a video game. Playing suave rocker Johnny Silverhand, Reeves' role in Cyberpunk 2077 makes him one of the main characters - don't worry, we won't ruin the story here. Now, someone has added a playable version of Reeves' John Wick to Cyberpunk 2077

What does John Wick look like in Cyberpunk 2077?

Aside from his role as Neo in The Matrix movies and Ted in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Reeves is best-known for playing the stoic John Wick in the movie franchise of the same name. Reeves was always a big name in Hollywood, however, it's his ongoing part in John Wick that's raised his profile to a whole new echelon. Almico has made their John Wick mod available on Nexus Mods. Not only allowing you to suit up as the Hotel Continental's best shooter, players can also try out a more classic Reeves look and even Johnny Silverhand.

Be warned though, Almico's mod is only in its early stages, meaning they admit it could be a little glitchy. The Keanu Reeves mod explains, "Here's a mod that lets you play as Johnny Silverhand, John Wick or Keanu Reeves. This mod is in the very early stages so be ready to encounter a few bugs like clipping". There's also a hilarious glitch where wearing a hat makes your head disappear, so be warned.

Should you download the John Wick Cyberpunk 2077 mod?

A big part of Cyberpunk 2077 is the ability to customise your version of V (the main character). CD Projekt Red tried to throw gender norms out the window with a wholly customisable character, and while there's been some controversy, there's been plenty of praise. The only problem is, Cyberpunk 2077 plays in first-person, apart from when driving. This means you won't be able to see much of John Wick or Johnny Silverhand. There were plans for the game to play in third-person just like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but it was taken out at the last minute. Thankfully, there's also a third-person mod out there.

This is the latest Reeves mod, coming not long after CD Projekt Red asked players to stop using a mod that let you turn one of the game's Joytoy sex robots into Reeves. It led to a bizarre subculture of people sleeping with the megastar in-game. A John Wick mod sounds great, but also remember that devs have advised against using mods. A recent security flaw was found, that could allow someone to control your Cyberpunk 2077 externally. Still, for those that can't wait to put their assassination skills to the test and imagine they're actually the man himself, a Cyberpunk 2077 John Wick mod is sure to be a "hit".
