How to get Mythic Prisms in Overwatch 2 & what they're used for
Season 10 of Overwatch 2 introduces an entirely new in-game currency labelled Mythic Prisms. With these, you can pick and choose between all the Mythic cosmetics ever made available in Overwatch 2.
Let's go over how the game's latest currency, Mythic Prisms, works and how to get more in Overwatch 2.
What are Mythic Prisms?
Mythic Prisms are a brand-new in-game currency available in Overwatch 2 as of Season 10. Previously in Overwatch 2, every Battle Pass featured a Mythic Hero Skin. However, not everyone is a fan of every Hero or Skin, which can lead to a lessened desire to grind out a particular Battle Pass.
Mythic Prisms allow you to unlock and upgrade whichever Mythic Hero Skin you want! If you don't like Season 10's Mythic Mercy Skin, for example, you can use Mythic Prisms to go back and unlock the Mythic Cyber Demon Genji from Season 1.
Not only can you use Mythic Prisms to get previous Mythic Hero Skins, but you can stash them away for future Mythic cosmetics, which Blizzard Entertainment teases may start popping up in the Shop. In this sense, Mythic Prisms are quite similar to Heirloom Shards from Apex Legends.
How to get Mythic Prisms
The best way to get Mythic Prisms is to purchase the Premium Battle Pass and progress through all the tiers.
It costs 50 Mythic Prisms to unlock the base variant of a Mythic Hero Skin and 10 Mythic Prisms for each Mythic Customization Option. Completing the Premium Battle Pass will net you 80 Mythic Prisms, just enough to fully unlock and upgrade a Mythic Skin.
Alternatively, you can buy additional Mythic Prisms outright in the Shop.
That's the basics of Mythic Prisms in Overwatch 2. You're no longer tied to a specific season's Mythic Hero Skin. Instead, pick up the Premium Battle Pass and start collecting Mythic Prisms to use on whichever Mythic Skin is your favourite!
