Overwatch 2 Mei Guide: Abilities, Tips, How To Unlock
The key to success is to jump into the frontlines and deal damage in Overwatch 2. While others prefer to play more tactically with tank and support classes, the power of a damage character can not be understated. If you have a decent team to back you up, you can easily rip through the battlefield in Overwatch 2 and emerge victorious. One of the best characters to achieve this with is Mei, an ice-based damage character with the power to take out hordes of enemy players. Here’s everything you need to know about unlocking and using Mei in Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 Mei Abilities

Overwatch 2 Mei Early Tips
While Mei does not possess a ton of health, her height and moveability ensure she can be a hard target to hit. It’s best to use this to your advantage and run circles around your foes. Thankfully, the Endothermic Blaster can damage enemies rapidly, and since it slows them down too, you can use their panic to grab the upper hand.
However, if you do run into trouble, your other abilities are perfect backups. If you find an entire team closing in on your position, be sure to put up your Ice Wall and use that opportunity to flee. Alternatively, you can use it to block incoming fire, or if you’re attempting to hold off a position, block your enemy from entering a passageway. If you’re feeling particularly cheeky, then you can also use it to block enemies in their spawn.
Mei also has the opportunity to heal in Overwatch 2. With her Cryo-Freeze ability, Mei can basically cocoon herself to heal. Unfortunately, this does leave you open once completed. While inside the cocoon you can’t be damaged, but afterwards, you become an easy target, meaning enemies can simply wait next to you to come out. It can be a great tool to use to avoid huge attacks such as D.Va’s Self-Destruct.
If you manage to communicate with your team, a brilliant combination is having a support character such as Mercy backup Mei. From our experience, having Mercy assist you by boosting your health and damage is a deadly combination. If you can sync up, the pair of you can easily become a force to be reckoned with.
