Everything you need to know about Ramattra in Overwatch 2
If you know your way around a tank in Overwatch 2, you can become a force to be reckoned with - and Ramattra is no different. This hulking brute can take a punch, but they can also dish one out too. Overwatch 2’s hero Ramattra doubles as two tanks, with the ability to swap between two forms on the fly.
If you’re looking for a new tank to sink your teeth into, or simply bored with the current offering of heroes available, here’s everything you need to know about using Ramattra in the game.
Ramattra abilities
As previously mentioned, Ramattra has two forms he can use. Firstly, there’s the Omnic Form - the standard form you can use to deal damage. But the most vital is the Nemesis Form, which packs a powerful punch on weakened opponents in Overwatch 2.
- Void Accelerator (Omnic Form)
- Type - Primary Fire
- Effect - Fires a stream of projectiles toward the enemy to begin damaging them. It can also create a forcefield to block shots in front of you, allowing you to charge closer to your foes.
- Pummel (Nemesis Form)
- Type - Primary Fire
- Effect - Use your fists to punch enemies, creating shockwaves that can hurt them from a distance. You can also use your secondary ability to reduce damage taken but expose your back to more attacks from the enemy.
- Ravenous Vortex
- Type - Ability
- Effect - Creates a circular field that slowly damages and slows down enemies in the area. It will also pull them down if they are above.
- Nemesis Form
- Type - Ability
- Effect - Change to your Nemesis Form on the fly, allowing you to deal out more damage, but at a closer range.
- Annihilation
- Type - Ability
- Effect - Automatically changes you to Nemesis Form and creates an energy swarm around you that damages enemies. It’s also worth noting it pauses its usage if you begin taking damage.
Ramattra is best used when both of his forms are mixed together. If you’re still struggling to come up with strategies to fully utilize Ramattra's skills, we have the best tips and tricks you can use.
Tips for using Ramattra
While in his Omnic Form, Ramattra uses his Void Accellorator to pepper opponents with a stream of projectiles. This is a great way to attack foes from a distance. When paired with his Void Barrier, he can shield his allies and himself from harm.
When in his Nemesis Form, Ramattra can pummel foes with heavy attacks. These pummels will also pierce through shields, meaning he can be a great counter-pick to heroes like Reinhardt, Sigma and Brigitte.
Along with this, you can also mix in Ramattra’s abilities. The most notable is the Ravenous Vortex, which is great in objective-based modes in Overwatch 2. You can use Ravenous Vortex to create a circular area, which will slow down and damage enemies within it.
Finally, we have Ramattra’s Ultimate known as Annihilation. This is great for when you’re looking to play more offensively and tank some damage for your team.
When used, a swamp of energy will circle you and deal damage to nearby foes, but what makes it most useful is the fact it pauses its usage when you’re taking fire, meaning it can effectively be used indefinitely. Enemies will have to weigh up fighting you or letting your Ultimate run its course.
How do you unlock Ramattra in Overwatch 2?
Similarly to Season One of Overwatch 2, which introduced Kiriko, players will need to reach Tier 55 of the Season 2 Battle Pass to obtain Ramattra. Obviously, this is no easy feat, so players will have to play a ton of matches and complete challenges to race through the tiers. It’s worth noting Ramattra will be a free reward of the Battle Pass, and won’t need any premium content in order to unlock him.
That being said, you can pick up the Premium Battle Pass if you want to grab Ramattra instantly. It’ll knock you back 1,000 Overwatch Coins, but you’ll be able to jump into battle pretty instantly.
