Kill the Justice League Easter egg hints at true Arkham Knight sequel
While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League fans might've thought, "Bat's all folks," a sneaky Easter egg hints at the return of the Caped Crusader for a full-blown sequel to 2015's Batman: Arkham Knight. It took nine years for year Rocksteady to release its latest chapter in the Arkhamverse, and safe to say, we want more.
The first three Arkham games are universally beloved, with even the divisive Arkham Knight finding a new fanbase - possibly due to Kill the Justice League's flaws. James Gunn has already promised more games in the Arkhamverse, but does that really include a full-blown Arkham Knight sequel?

Kill the Justice League Easter egg hints at Arkham Knight sequel
Although the clue was in the name, one of Kill the Justice League's biggest twists is that you actually have to kill the heroes. Arguably the most shocking is the death of Batman, taking a bullet to the head at the hands of Harley Quinn. This divisive moment has split fandom, with haters branding the game as 'woke' for this alone.
Given that Kill the Justice League is likely the last time we'll hear the legendary Kevin Conroy, Batman's death has become even more poignant. However, Batman Arkham Videos has found an Easter egg that hints we're not done with the Caped Crusader. Eagle-eyed fans will be able to spot a series of calendars with circled dates.
There are a total of 12 calendars, with December seeming important as it has a Batman logo instead of a circle. The YouTuber explains how each date relates to a letter in the alphabet, and when arranged in month order, it spells out "He will return." As you can imagine, this has led to wild speculation we'll finally get that long-rumoured Arkham Knight sequel.
We could see Bruce Wayne suit up once again thanks to some clever Elseworlds trickery, and remember, he's previously survived a fakeout death in Arkham Knight. If not, this 'he' who returns could be someone like Dick Grayson or Damian Wayne taking on the mantle of Batman.
Mark the date in your diaries
Of course, it's possible that the Easter egg is pointing to someone else. We know Kill the Justice League has a bulging DLC roadmap that's already confirmed an Elseworlds version of the Joker, as well as a tease of a gender-flipped Mr Freeze. Beyond that, we've heard of Deathstroke, Killer Croc, and more.
It's speculated that the cryptic date tease could be setting up the villainous Calendar Man. As a minor character in the Arkham games, Calendar Man already has a place in this universe and witnessed the 'death' of Batman during Arkham Knight's Wayne Manor incident.
Calendar Man would be an obscure character to base a whole DLC on, but as we've seen from the main campaign, expect the unexpected. We're told that Kill the Justice League is returning to Gotham City in Season 3, but whether this will lead to the Arkham Knight sequel we've always wished for, it sounds like it's going to be a long night for the Dark Knight.
