We have trailers, gameplay details, even some new content, and most importantly a release date for the games that isn't too far away, so let's get into it.
Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection release date
The release date for the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is March 14, 2024. At the time of writing, this puts the launch just a few weeks away.
With the first game turning 20 later this year, it seems a perfect time to revisit these classics. If you simply cannot wait, you can pre-order the collection on all available platforms to be ready for launch.
Classic Collection trailers
The Announce Trailer was shown during the Nintendo Direct on February 21, revealing the collection for the first time. The trailer shows off classic Battlefront gameplay and runs down many of the new and returning features of the games.
Battlefront Classic Collection platforms
As mentioned, the announcement of the Classic Collection happened during a Nintendo Direct, so as you can imagine the games will be coming to the Switch. However, the Switch isn't the only console that you can play the collection on.
The Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via Steam.
Classic Collection gameplay features
This collection of the original two Star Wars Battlefront games is confirmed to include all content from both games, including both campaigns and Galactic Conquest. All maps and modes will return, with both offline play and online up to 64 players.
If the return of these games in all their glory wasn't enough, Aspyr has gone and added new content for this collection. A Jabba's Palace map has been added to the first game, while the second game gets Bespin: Cloud City, Rhen Var: Harbor, Rhen Var: Citadel, and Yavin 4: Arena as new maps, and Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress as new playable heroes.
