EA Announce Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Delay
It looks like the force is weak with Respawn Entertainment in the early weeks of 2023, as the developing giants have announced an official delay of the upcoming title Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
The new ventures of Cal Kestis have been slammed aside like Padme feeling the wrath of an insane Anakin, just as fans were warming up at the prospect of fighting Vader once again.
Having originally been set for a March 17, 2023, release, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has now been shunted back an extra six weeks.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Delayed Until April
Taking to social media, Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts have confirmed that the next story in the Jedi series has been delayed until April 28.
Speaking in a post, the developers said, "We are now focused entirely on the final stage: bug fixes to enhance performance, stability, polish, and most importantly, the player experience".
"In order for the team to hit the Resapwn quality bar, provide the team the time they need, and achieve the level of polish our fans deserve, we have added six crucial weeks to our release schedule," the post continues.
Respawn Entertainment Delay Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Amid Company Setbacks
Wookies and Ewoks alike won't be the only aggrieved Respawn Entertainment fans this week either, as the announcement for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor comes just hours after the developers also announced the sunsetting of Apex Legends: Mobile and the axing of Battlefield: Mobile.
However, with so many games being released in an unpolished state as of late, capitulating before they had the chance to make any significant impacts in the industry, Respawn's extra shine to the sabers might be for the best.
It's a shame that EA didn't wait another six days for a May 4th release, but at least that will allow us to extend Star Wars day to Star Wars week, starting with Cal Kestis and ending with some R2-D2-printed toast.
