Now that the festive season is out of the way, it's time to welcome the EA FC 24 Team of the Year (TOTY) to the game, with players like Messi, Putellas, Van Dijk, and Bonmati at the helm. This year is even more exciting as there will also be a women’s TOTY releasing in the game as well as the regular men's team.

The TOTY cards are very highly rated and will remain some of the best cards the game has to offer until the very end. Alongside the TOTY cards, which is just a starting eleven, there is also a 12th man card, as well as a few honourable mentions released in packs and as SBCs who are not as highly rated but still very good.

EA FC 24 TOTY release date

TOTY begins on January 19. In the build-up to the event I recommend saving your packs and rewards until the full team is out - hopefully, you can get some of the very best cards the game has to offer.

Unlike most events in the game, the release of TOTY is staggered across the week. The official release schedule has not been confirmed yet, but if it is like last year they will drop every two days - this is also what leaks suggest will happen.

Here is the leaked schedule:

  • Attackers: January 19 - 21
  • Midfielders: January 21 - 23
  • Defenders: January 23 - 25
  • Full team: January 25 - February 3

Men's TOTY squad

  • Alisson (Liverpool)
  • Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen)
  • Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
  • Ruben Dias (Manchester City)
  • Theo Hernandez (Milan)
  • Rodri (Manchester City)
  • Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
  • Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)
  • Lionel Messi (Inter Miami)
  • Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
  • Kylian Mbappe (PSG)

Overall this has been a rather predictable year in terms of TOTY squads, with four players from the dominant, treble-winning Manchester City alongside Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi. It is still somewhat surprising to see Messi awarded as he hasn't done a huge amount in 2023 as a year, and De Bruyne's treble heroics push him over the edge despite being mostly since the Champions League final.

Women's TOTY squad

  • Mary Earps (Manchester United)
  • Ona Batlle (Barcelona)
  • Millie Bright (Chelsea)
  • Wendie Renard (OL)
  • Sakina Karchaoui (PSG)
  • Lena Oberdorf (Wolfsburg)
  • Alexia Putellas (Barcelona)
  • Aitana Bonmati (Barcelona)
  • Caroline Graham Hansen (Barcelona)
  • Sophia Smith (Portland Thorns)
  • Sam Kerr (Chelsea)

Once again it is rather unsurprising to see the dominant team of the year - in this case Barcelona - populate the squad, with Champions League, World Cup, and Ballon d'Or winning star Aitana Bonmati at the centre as the highest rated.

Every single player included here will definitely be the star of your team though, so hopefully we'll be able to pack at least one in your squad.

TOTY Icon leaks

For the very first time last year, we saw TOTY Icons introduced into the game, and if leaker FUTSheriff's posts on X (formerly Twitter) are to be believed, they could be returning again this year.

Below are the players who have been leaked so far, but as always, these should be taken with a pinch of salt:

  • Ronaldo (Brazil)
  • Patrick Viera (France)
  • Franck Ribery (France)
  • Mia Hamm (USA)
  • Xavi (Spain)
  • Lothar Matthäus (Germany)
  • Michael Essien (Ghana)
  • Rio Ferdinand (England)

For the first time, leaks also suggest that these cards could feature two different PlayStyle+ abilities, meaning that they will be even more overpowered. No doubt, these cards will be some of the most valuable cards in the game and will likely be incredibly difficult to get.

That's all you need to know about the EA FC 24 TOTY for now, but we'll keep this page updated as more info drops in the build-up to the release. If you’re on the hunt for more guides, why not check out our EA FC homepage where we have covered Evolutions, PlayStyles and more?
