EASFC features graphics overhaul for next release
The next FIFA game doesn't just arrive with a new name, as EA Sports FC also boasts a number of impressive graphical improvements - as detailed in one of the first reveals of the upcoming game.
New iterations have always been driven by improvements in how the players move and look, and things look to be taken to the next level with EASFC. This should be music to the ears of any ardent FIFA players out there.
EA Sports FC introduces HyperMotion V
As reported by Mirror Gaming, LaLiga celebrated its partnership with EA Sports FC by showing off the new HyperMotion V technology in a live stream on its channel.
From the name alone, things look to take an impressive jump, as FIFA 23's HyperMotion 2.0 technology has seemingly improved by three iterations in the space of the game's cycle.
If you are previously unaware of the technology, it relates to the precise animations that EA Sports captures for the game, making each player move in a far more realistic manner. Each new interaction of HyperMotion introduces new and more complex animations to the game in an effort to appear closer to the 'real' game.
What justifies the jump from HyperMotion 2.0 to HyperMotion V, however, is the fact that the latter will feature a whopping 80 times the number of animations compared to FIFA 23. This translates to 590 million frames of "advanced 11v11 capture."
As you can imagine, this serves as quite a significant improvement and should make the latest entry in the series feel far fresher than a simple name change might otherwise suggest.
Blurring the lines
Within the same live stream, David Jackson, VP of Brand at EA Sports detailed that they are aiming to "blur the lines between virtual and real football" with these new graphical improvements, which will certainly be a statement alongside the revised branding.
There is (of course) only so far that you can go with photorealistic graphics, and the rest of the legwork comes from making the movements appear in synchronicity with real life. This could also have a dramatic effect on the gameplay itself, as improved animations could potentially see close dribblers become even stronger.
While we're yet to receive a proper glimpse at how this will actually translate to the game itself for EA Sports FC, it certainly leaves us excited to see more and get our hands on the game when it releases later this year.
