Fans have been wondering what's next for Call of Duty, especially as we've had two long years of Modern Warfare that players have grown pretty tired of. Some are still kicking in the lobbies, but it seems that most are looking for a change. It just so happens that that change lives in the past.

Players have wondered if Black Ops could be next to get an instalment in the franchise after teases from Microsoft and hopes that Activision will know just what fans are after - and it looks like the time to wonder is over.

The teasing period for the next Call of Duty game has begun, and as a new website offers players the first teaser, they're more confident than ever that Black Ops 6 is on the way.

Call of Duty unveils TheTruthLies.com, reveals first Black Ops 6 trailer

The teaser comprises of a whole lot of shaky camera footage that's shot in a guerilla style. It ends with the secretive people we see rushing around and getting into cars displaying blindfolds across the figures of Mount Rushmore.

The mystery CoD game leads with the message "The Truth Lies." It so happens that this is the same statement as the TheTruthLies.com website.

This marks the teaser for the very first Call of Duty game under Microsoft's ownership and a brand-new era for fans. Not because of its company's home but because of the franchise's movement away from Modern Warfare after a few years of its tyrannical rule.

Fans have also pointed out that the logo on the blindfold on the far right of Mount Rushmore is the same as the logo Microsoft has shown for its upcoming [REDACTED] showcase, It seemingly confirms that the direct will feature details of the game that this video is teasing.

The final piece of the puzzle is a hidden meta description that reads: "You might remember a better time. But it was false. Trust no one. Open your eyes. Find the truth." It doesn't give much away, but it sounds like a typically Black Ops-esque mission.

Call it a new era, or call it another return to nostalgia - Black Ops looks to be back, and it's going to rule the franchise for the next year at the very least. Strap in.
