Secretlab’s MAGNUS Pro attachments are designed to boost productivity, but do they work?
As one of the leading developers in gaming chairs, Secretlab is known around the world, and you'd be forgiven for thinking it'd leave it at that.
After all, the company has so far proven itself to be the first port of call when it comes to furniture that appeals to gaming desk-dwellers, so it makes sense that it would hedge all of its bets in the same place. It turns out this simply isn't the case.
The MAGNUS Pro is a powerhouse of a desk, but so far, it has appealed directly to gamers and gamers alone, thanks to its comfort under the Secretlab banner. Secretlab is a company with plenty of productivity chops that have, for the most part, been lost to the expectation that its products are designed with the hobby in mind.

How can the MAGNUS Pro improve in the first place?
Click to enlargeThough the all-metal chassis and focus on muted, minimalist colours might point you in the direction of gaming, the MAGNUS Pro by Secretlab manages to effectively push owners in the direction of productivity in the same breath with its extensive add-ons.
We loved the desk when we first got our hands on it, but new additions to the desk's long list of bolt-ons have only made the experience more impressive. The desk is still as sturdy and robust as it has always been months on from our first review in both sitting and standing formations.
Extras along the way have helped to keep the MAGNUS Pro a strong choice for those looking to build a work-from-home setup that practically does all of the work for you.
Setting up a monitor on the desk is just as simple with a single arm as it is with a double-ended one. The design of its anchor ensures the two arms never clash while still maintaining enough flexibility to sit wherever you need them to.
Plus, the addition of the laptop mount attachment means the slick and smooth movements of the monitor arms can be applied to a laptop powering the whole setup, quite literally elevating the workspace and clearing up desk real estate to near-absence.

When you're finished with your keyboard or need to free up the space for other things, pushing your peripherals underneath is as simple as pushing away your monitors. Tidiness seems to be a core focus, too, as the magnetised cable anchors help to keep chargers and plug-ins as close to invisible pinned to the backside of the desk as they can be.
The additions made to the MAGNUS Pro are bonuses on top of an already exemplary desk - though chances are, the price of the accessories, as well as the beast itself, are likely to be a major deterrent for those interested.
The desk already stands as an investment at £729 out of the gate, and as the quality of the added devices matches the desk itself, they're similarly pricey. What's curious about the MAGNUS Pro is that it takes to the furniture world the same approach as PC building, acting basically as a pre-built working setup with extra features to glam it up.
What it lacks in affordability, it makes up for with simplicity and effectiveness - and so far, it has helped the MAGNUS Pro become one of the best desks we've used, both for gaming and for productivity. Secretlab knows what it's doing, and if you're willing to buy in, you might just get all that you need to turn into a working powerhouse.
