Elden Ring’s ‘Throbbing Uncle’ is the new Let Me Solo Her
Cast your minds back to 2022 and the peak of Elden Ring fever. FromSoftware's sword-swinging epic had just released, and as we took our first steps into the Lands Between, we realised we were in for a gruelling time. While some of us gave up as early as Margit, the Fell Omen, others persevered and set our sights on the Elden Beast.
There were plenty of challenging foes along the way, but for many, it was Malenia, Blade of Miquella, who became our archnemesis. Despite being an optional boss, we spent hours grinding away and trying to beat her. For some, it was simply too much, which is where Let Me Solo Her came in.
The strange sight of a semi-nude player wearing a pot on their head became synonymous with Elden Ring's early days, as Let Me Solo Her promised to fight by your side to help you beat Melania. As we move to the Land of Shadow for Shadow of the Erdtree, there's a new Let Me Solo Her coming for the Miss Congeniality crown.
Throbbing Uncle is the new Let Me Solo Her
We previously covered how Shadow of the Erdtree will only be playable past a certain point in the main campaign of Elden Ring. You have to defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood to get there, and with the stats suggesting that a huge number of you simply never got that far, it's been a mad scramble to best him.
This is where Throbbing Uncle (yeah, we're not sure about the name) comes in. Posting on the Elden Ring Reddit, the anonymous player claimed that they're standing by and ready to assist in beating Mohg via summons.
With a stirring mantra of, "I will heal for you and die for you if I have to," they added, "Let's walk the Shadow Lands together." One supporter cheered, "Man, you are why I love the Souls community," while another added, "NO TARNISHED LEFT BEHIND 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥‼️‼️💯💯," and a third said, "Thy strength befits a crown!"
Importantly, it seems that Throbbing Uncle has spurred others to join the cause. The thread was filled with fellow players dropping their usernames and telling struggling Tarnished to summon them. Few communities are as together as the Soulslike, and as we take to the Lands of Shadow, the likes of Let Me Solo Her and Throbbing Uncle are keeping that spirit alive.
